NBA stars are well known for driving the world’s fastest and most expensive automobiles. It’s a non-stop parade of Benzes, Bugattis, Ferraris, Lambos, and McLarens. But there is no other NBA star like the great Michael Jordan. And MJ’s 1996 Mercedes-Benz S600 Lorinser is now available on eBay. The seller calls it “the holy grail of Michael Jordan memorabilia.”
Alex Manos, the owner of the Beverly Hills Car Club, has the vehicle’s title listing Michael and Juanita Jordan as the original owners. “Michael Jordan was a magically gifted basketball player who, when you watched him, took your breath away,” said Manos. “His S600 Lorinser is such an elegant vehicle that driving it will get you in touch with your inner Michael Jordan.”

Jordan’s Benz S-Class comes in a gorgeous color combination of metallic navy deep blue with a beautiful gray interior. It’s decked out for comfort—coming equipped with an automatic transmission, air conditioning, heated seats, cruise control, dual airbags, power windows, power steering, power mirrors, power seats, power sunroof, power tilt steering wheel, power mirrors, 4-wheel disc brakes, and Lorinser chrome wheels.

The history of the Lorinser tuning house—based in Winnenden, Germany—dates back to the 1930s when it was a Mercedes-Benz re-seller. The company became a Benz tuner in the 1970s, earning a long list of celebrity clients, including another NBA great, Shaquille O’Neal, and F1 racing legend Niki Lauda.
The new binge-worthy Netflix series, The Last Dance, gives hoops fans a chance to relive the glory of the Chicago Bulls 1997-1998 season. When the Benz hit the site on Aug. 13 in the evening, the bidding starting price was set at $23.00, the superstar’s famed jersey number. It went on a fast break—reaching $55,000 by the next morning.
The Mercedes-Benz W140 series of vehicles were made from 1991 to 1998. They are known for their tall roofs and large side windows. With each new model, the flagship Benz offered higher levels of technology innovation, creature comforts, and safety.
