When the Plymouth Road Runner hit the streets in 1968, Pontiac was caught off-guard. Their GTO had started the muscle car movement, but here was Mopar, taking up a large part of the market with a low-priced low-option entry that was a real performer.
This Hemi Road Runner wasn’t an original 426 car, but originality doesn’t win drag races. It looks ready for some serious street fighting, thanks to a rebuilt Hemi, 4-speed manual, Dana rear with 4.56 gears and ladder bars, and massive 29×12.5 Mickey Sportsmans.
