eBay Motors, the largest online marketplace for buying and selling all things automotive, launched its third annual People’s Picks sweepstakes on September 10, 2012.

Now in its third year, People’s Picks gives you a platform to voice your opinions on the very best from vehicles to parts and accessories, sparring against other car, truck and motorcycle fans to settle some of the most notorious automotive rivalries. In addition to ensuring your favorite brands are victorious, you are entered for a chance to win $10,000, a trip to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, and weekly cash and prize drawings!

“We know that auto fans have strong opinions when it comes to the vehicles and parts they love, and the People’s Picks competition provides them with the perfect platform to share their views,” said Kristine Chin, Head of eBay Motors. “People’s Picks reflects the passion of the auto community, something we fuel every day on eBay Motors. And it’s a great way to gauge which brands, vehicles and modifications are popular today, straight from the fans.”

You can vote online – and via mobile – on a variety of categories: Muscle Cars, Imports, New Cars, Trucks, Off-Road, Modifications, Classic Cars, Motorcycles, Hybrids and Race Cars. Each category will have ten vehicles or parts and accessories-related questions. Every vote increases the participant’s chances of winning.

When? The eBay Motors People’s Picks program begins on September 10 and runs through October 15 for a period of five-weeks.

I love older jeep wrangler’s and Acura’s/Honda’s. Both are usually very reliable and hold their value very well.

  5. Matthew Williams says:

    I nominate the New 2013 Scion FR-S!

  6. turtleskin says:

    the XKE Classic series…
    Just wonderful

  7. Daniel Castorena says:

I nominate the Camaro ZL1! All American Muscle!

  8. Renee Akridge says:

I nominate the muscle cars! I also like the vintage sports cars such as 1965 Ford Mustang!

    • Mary Delaney says:

I would love to have a 1960′s Mustang! I drive a 2000 Mustang that belonged to my Dad and even as new as that is, it has that heavy old-car feel to it compared to my newer every-day car. I love the way it handles on the road, and it’s a little bit of my Dad, too. I used to drive a friend’s 1970 Mustang and it was fun, too…I guess what I’m saying is Mustangs really rock for fun behind the wheel, regardless of age!

  9. tracey says:

    1971 XY Ford Falcon!

  10. Luke says:

Why does the intro page state ” The more you vote, the more chances you have to win (max. 500 entries/week – see details), so what are you waiting for? Start voting now!” but in the contest details it states 100 entries per week the rest will be void?

    • Luke says:

Really? Are you legally allowed to change your contest details without informing us? I have screen shots showing your contest details as a max of 100 a week. Now it states 500 as it should have. How do you stay in business with such sloppy patchwork?

  11. fred says:

Classic Ford or Chevy or dodge pickups customized.

  12. Robert says:

I nominate Roger Bursch exhausts for Porsches! He was one of the first to produce an affordable, reliable and effective system for Porsches! I had one on my ’84 Carrera, and it made a subtle yet obvious difference. Of course, in the same breath Billy Boat’s Tri-Flow exhausts were/are fantastic, too! When I had a ’80 Grey Market 930 Turbo I was fortunate enough to have one of his systems on it. Dual 4″ ovals, and the wastegate went directly to the atmosphere! Awesome sound and a true 10% to 15% increase in horsepower!

  13. Darlene A says:

I entered all 100 sweeps answers and got an error when I tried to submit. – do not add me to your email list. Grrrrrr…

    • eBay Motors says:

Is that working for you now?

    • Marie B says:

I also entered all 100 answers and received an error.

    • Tony says:

My entry worked just fine. Perhaps browser settings or other things that may be preventing you from inputting the required E-Bay info at the end. IE..if you entered this from your job while checking personal e-mail…Job may have installed WEB-CAT or other blocker that prevents you from checking/logging into sites such as E-BAY or FB et al.

  14. Angel Whelan says:

Ayrton Senna was by far the best racer of all time. Why wasn’t he an option?

  15. jim n says:

error trying to submit ‘cash in your entries’:
    “error getting votes: error,”

you owe me 100 entries :^)

  16. sal lakhani says:

  17. Rick P says:

“Which brand gave us the best classic car ?” and all the choices are foreign ???????????? There are no better classics than classic American. We created the classic with cars from Packard, Cord, Dusenberg, Pontiac, Olds, Mercury, Studebaker, Plymouth, Desoto, Cadillac… Come on guys you can do better than that!

    • eBay Motors says:

      Hey Rick,

Thanks for chiming in. There are a lot of classics here and that term depends on where you come from models you grew up with.

With that, what did you vote for and what is your most favorite classic of all-time?

  18. oscar says:

  19. John says:

I sure agree with the Plymouth Hemi Cuda but my personal favorite is the AMC 1969 amx 390 2 seater. all great additions

  20. Badskpr says:

The toughest restoration is my 1985 Renault Alliance DL which through E-Bay I have been able to find the parts despite the Chrysler corporation destroying the factory in Kenosha Wisconsin. Oh, I drive it three days a week and it still gets 41 MPG with factory air and convertible.

    • eBay Motors says:

That sounds like a great project car sourced from eBay Motors parts!

Would you be able to provide us photos and some brief descriptions about the overall project so we could showcase here on the on the blog?

      Please email us directly at

  21. Emir says:

Ferari F40 Mabey nice car (:

  22. Scott says:

The 1970 LS6 SS Chevelle is the sweetest ride I have ever owned, and cherished by all Chevy muscle car lovers.
If I ever get the chance to own one again I will die a happy man!

  23. Scott says:

Muscle cars rule on ebay, there is no better place than ebay motors to buy this type of collectable car or parts for it safely!

    • eBay Motors says:

We agree Scott! We have a lot of Muscle cars here on eBay Motors. Do you happen to have one yourself?

      • Scott says:

If I ever hit a big lottery ticket, Im going straight to ebay and picking out the sweetest 1970 LS6 Chevelle I can find. I used to own one and it is the nicest riding, fastest, most styish vehicle ever in my humble opinion

  24. eBay Motors says:

That’s a great ride! Do you have any stories about that and photos? We’d love to feature that ride here on our blog at some point. Please email them to us directly

  25. Mike says:

what? chance to win what? redirected to another survey?

  26. gary says:

    win what???

  27. Mark says:

Actually the Hybrid for honda for 2012 and 2013 is and will be the CRZ or CR-Z modeled after the CRX it is an inline 4 cylinder with a DC Brushless Motor (Permanent Magnet AC Synchronous) on top that charges while braking. up to 55 MPG.
i wish eBay would also add this car to available car types its not currently listed. Insight is already outdated. :)

  28. eBay Motors says:

Mark, thanks for pointing out the CR-Z is missing from the list of Honda models. We’ll work on getting this car and other missing models added ASAP.

  29. Jerry says:

Very intersting questions and while I have been participating I’d like to get a recap of my entries. Is there a way to check how maNY ENTRIES I have and how do you do that??

  30. Jeffrey says:

I nominate Acura Integra Type R

  31. C Hounshell says:

How about the category for Mid-Engine cars? A couple of my favorites the baddest the Acura NSX. Thought I would’ve seen that category but hey maybe next year! Thanks

  32. brian says:

Need more choices for your Q+A. The best brands were left out.

  33. Maxim says:

Nissan GTR!!!!!!!!! Cool car for it`s price.

  34. Scott says:

It’s a “Land Rover Defender”, not a “Range Rover Defender” A Range Rover and a Defender are two separate vehicles.

  35. Pamela Robinson says:

I don’t believe your website is working properly. I have cashed 300 entries with no results.

  36. EDWARD says:

tRIED TO CASH IN 100 votes and nothing ??????

  37. Dan Stein says:

I have a 1971 455 Oldsmobile engine in the garage that my father would like to sell. He is willing to get rid of engine and engine stand for $200. This is a good rebuild project, engine still cranked when pulled out of oldsmobile.

  38. Rick says:

twice now I’ve taken the survey 100 each I go to cash in and nothing whats up is this a waste of time or am I doing something wrong. How can you check to see how much you have or is there something that your suppose to get at the end of the survey? Please let me know.

  39. Jared says:

I would like to see more love for the Pontiac Firebird.

  40. moi says:

Honda Civic CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and Honda FCX Clarity (though $2/mile RENTAL at 15K mile a year is horrendous): for their step in the right direction

  41. Andy Frazier says:

    I like the muscle cars.

  42. Padraig Lynch says:

Why do you want me to pick from one of the cars you have chosen to enter??? I did not see a 1970 Dodge Challenger on your list. Who picked the cars that you want me to choose from? I wasn’t asked. I’d rather give up a chance at $10K than vote for a car that you listed. None are that great…and a 1970 Hemi Barracuda???? They suck.

  43. eBay Motors says:

    Hi Padraig,

We agree, the 1970 Dodge Challenger is a great vehicle, but it did not make the list, but for next year due your submission it will be! What do you currently drive?

  44. Len says:

It would be great if we could check our weekly entries on the site but 500 entries per week? There’s only 100 questions. Let’s say time comsuming at the very least.
I would give my votes for say a ’69 Chevelle/ElCamino SS, ’72 Camaro SS, Cougar, Grand Torino, Ranchero, lifted F-150 vote for how many inch lift and how big a tire.

  45. eBay Motors says:

    Hi Len,

We’ll include these votes for next year, thanks!

    What do you own currently?

  46. HR Laser says:

This eBay Motors “answer a hundred questions” is a total waste of half an hour of my time.. the chances of my actually winning anything are millions to one.. I don’t know why I even bothered slogging through a hundred questions.. I have NEVER won ANYTHING in ANY of eBay’s contests, and I’ve entered dozens of them since I joined in 1998..

  47. K.A. says:

Just spent my time voting, clicked at the end of 100 questions on the CASH IN YOUR ENTRIES button. It just went grey. So I wondered how I actually entered since I was not logged into ebay and there was no place to enter a user ID or contact information?
Seems like another waste of time…. which it probably is any way. I think these online contests ever really give any prize money out, they don’t really have to as who would know. It’s like the entire internet…. gathering info for free to make themselves rich. Well… I will not give any more info to this “contest” or any other.

  48. lee says:

I can’t even get on link to web site to vote?

  49. mine says:

peice of cxxx wont even come up grey screen after waiting almost 2 mins won win anyway WT?

  50. Vasyl says:

    I like the sportscars

  51. Gina says:

Twice I answered the 100 questions & both times the system failed to record them. This was a total waste of time.

  52. Zyggy says:

Iown the smartest and most beutiffull car …its a Soara toyota 2008. Great car and service

  53. John Hoppe says:

Tried to cash in and program froze.

  54. Soren says:

Which manufacturer’s bikes top your list?: Triumph
Which brand makes the best touring bike engine?: Triumph
    Favorite motorcycle helmet brand: Scorpion
Which new car model are you most excited about?: 2013 Dodge Dart

  55. Rusty Youngblood says:

I like 68 AMX Rally Green Go Pac, 390 4 speed 3:54 Twin Grip. PS, PB. AC, or Rally Pac, AM/FM Adjust a tilt Wheel, Visibly Group, Light Group and lots of Group 19 parts. That is the basic platform. We start there.

We then move forward to mods, 66 Rouge T-10 4 speed because of the 2:64 first gear, Switch over to a
72 Javalin intermiten wiper system (Yes it will fit, but you must swap all parts)

The engine starts with a 390, and is bored and stocked with a 401 Crank (.10 under) polish rods, and TRW
pistons. Ealdabrock makes a fine set of heads and there yorker intake is just the ticket for a Holly 750 DP.
install a electriic fuel pump with return lines. Electric Fans. MSD distributor 8.5 spark plug wires NGK plugs
and MSD 6AL box for spark managment possible a Motec brain, a Maroco pan with trap doors for vertical and lateral movement. (all ways a good idea to have oil where needed) and the engine should make closet to or better than 500 RWHP

I would suggest switching the rear axels as they are a weak link in the rear end. I ran a 3:54 Richmon Gear
with a new posi set up and Jeep disc brakes on the rear, staggered the KYB stocks and installed a rear sway
bar and a pan hard bar along with frame rail connectors and a 6 point roll cage, Lowered 1″ front and 1 !/2
rear Racaro seats and a 6 point harness
As you can began to guess this car was set up for road racing. Not enough seat time for drag racing and I like to go around corners. Love to race. I know the Javalins were getter designed for this sort of racing, but
    I liked the AMX
Thank you for your time to read this and good luck with your future projects.

  56. Rusty Youngblood says:

Sorry for the misspelled words. I should have proof read this before publishing this to the blog.

  57. Dan says:

I don’t care about the stupid Hybrid questions. I will never own or drive a electric car.

  58. Mary Delaney says:

1965 Ford Mustang – many people’s favorite classic car

  59. Randy says:

The page jumps to another category before I can vote on the previous category. The category numbers in the gray bar across the top of the page don’t work and are unresponsive.

  60. Dan Kraus says:

  61. michele wertz says:

How about the 1965 Ford Ranchero!

  62. Vali C. says:

it is a very good idea, you should extend this for more types of products/categories of products.

    thank you

  63. Dr Rad Dan says:

I have been prompted by email from eBay three times to be part of this survey. Three times I have responded and three times as I pass 89 or 91 responses the page crashes. Nothing saved nothing gained. What a waste.

  64. AJ says:

This poll is a waste without the ability to select “Other” and type in a brand that is not listed. At the very least, give the option to skip.

  65. Nicolas says:

Airton Senna should be be included in the best drivers ever question.

  66. Chris T. says:

I think for the question that asked about like iconic car, you guys should include Colin McRae’s Impreza from the 90′s! A true iconic car in the world of rally!

  67. esther anyanwu says:

i love honda accord .that is what i drive .is very strong and reliable

  68. esther anyanwu says:

i have 1998 honda accord.first of all what makes my car reliable is the engine.engine is like the heart of every car.when it stops working a car is in danger.the manufacture of honda accord built the engine in such a way a buyer or consumer will be feels so good when u start ur engine and it sounds be honest with u.i love my make me happy because it does disapoint me.what makes my car strong is the type of materials the manufacturer use to manufacture the car parts.thanks

  69. Ruthann Sills says:

i love all suv’s ,and would love to have a hybrid

  70. mugunthan says:

one day i will buy a car………………………its my dream

  71. Jaxon says:

The inside colors compliment the exterior colors very well to make this Jeep even more stylish than imagined.
One of countless method of saving fuel is via your car or truck or truck.
Good quality Mercedes wheels ensure good performance in the car as well.

  72. Skylo says:
