Celebrating an anniversary yesterday, we invited our eBay sponsored race drivers to greet and meet eBay employees. In addition to each driver’s race cars, the eBay Motors Experience booth we use at race events was also setup on campus. Not everyone can get out to the races, so we brought the race experience to San Jose.
By plane, truck, or formula drift car — each driver found their way to the eBay campus. Justin Bell brought his #50 Tiger Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302. Tony Brakohiapa proudly trailered his 1,000 hp Formula Drift eBay Motors 2006 Ford Mustang.
David Binks traveled from the UK just say “hi” to say and show off his Best Buy eBay Motors Ford Fiesta Global RallyCross car which still had a little dirt from the last race. This little Ford Fiesta is tuned for 640 hp and can do naught to 60 in less than 2 seconds.
From southern California, Carey Hart, Ryan Beat, and Josh Merrell joined the party bringing along the #46 Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing truck. Given the chance, it would have literally run over the other cars in the parking lot.
Randy Nonnenbert and his father, Alan trailered their latest project — 1963 Chevrolet “Split-Window” Corvette. The body was recently painted Daytona Blue and is very close to being reunited with its chassis and motor.
Adding to the flavor the event were select cars from eBay employee’s personal collection. Thanks to all who volunteered their garage queens and show cars to share with everyone.
