eBay Motors Interview: Jessika Lora

Jessika Lora manages Strategic Initiatives for eBay Motors, including the For Sale By Owner business. In her role, she thinks about ways to make it easier to list, find a vehicle, and connect valuable services and products to the 14 million monthly automotive consumers on eBay.

Jessika on eBay Motors: “As the top online automotive destination, eBay Motors is at a natural advantage to connect vehicle sellers and buyers to one another. We’re also the only site that provides you with all the tools to buy, maintain, and sell your car from the convenience of your computer or mobile device.”

Jessika on growing up around cars: “My dad is a car enthusiast and at any point has a few American classics that he’s building from the inside out. I picked a 1966 Ford Mustang (vinyl hard top coupe) as my first car when I was 16. My dad was ecstatic as this meant another car project!”

Jessika on buying a car on the site: “For my second car, in 1999, I researched, found, and bought a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT (yes, with the twin turbo) from a private seller in Dallas. It was 30% cheaper than anything similar I had seen in Oregon and I took a bus from Hood River to Dallas to pick up and pay for my car. It was an unforgettable experience and one which I wish upon the millions of folks that come onto our site every day.”

Jessika has a Masters of Science in Decision Theory and Analysis from Stanford University, where she also earned her Bachelors of Science with honors.
