eBay Listing: 1967 Mercedes-Benz 230S Station Wagon

If the words “African barn find” and “Zimbabwe vehicle registration stickers” don’t stimulate your imagination like an ivory backscratcher in the eye, then this filthy fintail station wagon is probably not for you. Mercedes didn’t build a factory wagon in the 1960s, but this period conversion looks like a natural evolution of the “heckflosse” form, and all the funky exotic details just add to the charm.

It’s cosmetically rough, and the mechanical needs are no doubt substantial (and expensive), but just think about the reactions you’d get showing up in this thing at the local break with a vintage longboard on the roof!

Nine Mercedes-Benz wagon conversions from the 1960s sold on eBay in the past two years, averaging $13k to $23k. This one has obviously lived a storied life, and if the new owner gets it running again, I can’t imagine the stories would ever stop.
