The 1962 Starfire was a cool luxury cruiser with a great muscle-car stance and tons of flashy, interesting trim accenting its one-year-only sheet metal. It seems like they went unappreciated for many years, and few examples survive today.
This 1962 survivor looks straight, shiny and complete—just don’t crash it, ‘cause all those little unique bits will be darn-near impossible to find. Under the hood is the top-dog 345-horse 394 with matching numbers. The laundry list of recent work done by the GM Service is impressive, including engine and transmission rebuilt. Everything reportedly works. The seller says, “the car runs really good, drives really good.”
Just 124 1962 Starfires sold on eBay in the past three years, averaging $16k to $26k for decent examples. This one looked like a stellar deal when I spotted it at a bid of $18,500.
