1972 MG Midget

by

This chrome-bumper midget has great colors and just the right stance. The restored cosmetics are shiny and crisp, with new top, carpets and dash, plus much mechanical work. It retains “all books and documentation,” but the rest of the story is unknown, as the “charitable foundation” selling the car received it as a donation. It is being listed by a friend of the foundation with 562 ratings and 100% positive feedback.

Among the details tended to at restoration are new brakes, cylinders, rear axle seals, master cylinder, steering boots, bumpers, lenses, ignition and door locks. The car appears to start and up and runs normally, although the seller does not speculate about underlying condition.

Nearly 100,000 midgets were built over the 1966-1974 run, and today they represent a lot of fun for not a lot of money. That said, a bad one will always be a money pit, so it pays to know exactly what you’re buying. The car offered here without reserve could be a real score if there’s no ticking time bomb under the hood. See the listing here.
