Looking for an affordable vintage sports car you can drive regularly? This ’71 240Z could be just the ticket. It looks great in red over black and appears to be clean from top to bottom. And really clean examples are pretty rare today, as they were cheap for years, suffered from rust, and had a high attrition rate thanks to careless owners out for cheap thrills.

The seller of this ’71 says it’s been with the same owner for the last 16 years. The original motor is long gone, replaced with a Nissan L28 from a late ’70s or early ’80s 280Z. Among the other non-original parts listed are Nissan 5-speed transmission, Gymkhana suspension, Konig wheels, and Kenwood audio equipment.  Upkeep over the seller’s ownership of the car has included brake pads, brake rotors, ball joints, weatherstripping and door seals. Interested buyers should be sure to have this one checked out for rust and prior repaired damage, as both are common and can be expensive to straighten out.

Vintage Japanese cars have seen a boost in value over the past few years, led by cars like the 240Z. In the last year, 104 Datsun 240Zs have sold on eBay Motors, with good to excellent examples averaging $7k to almost $12k. Click here to see the listing.
