McLaren may best be known for their Formula One-winning championship racecars. But they also competed successfully in Can Am and Indy racing in the 1960s and ‘70s. McLaren introduced the M8 line in 1968, winning four races.

Trojan Limited was subcontracted by McLaren to construct customer versions of works cars—beginning with the M8C—because McLaren lacked the capacity for larger production. M8C-70-08 was the eighth of ten M8Cs built by Trojan.

It has its original tub and a 350 horsepower 400-ci Chevy big block with dry sump oiling. It also qualifies for many events around the country. A Can Am racing class rotates through the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion grouping every few years. M8C-70-08 was there as recently as 2007, according to fan sites.

The listing starts at $250,000 with the reserve not met. Buy-It-Now is a whisper short of $400k. Click here to see the listing.
