This first-year Charger looks like an impressively original car with some extremely desirable performance options. It recently had a professional rebuild of the engine, trans, brakes, front end and steering, and it looked like a great deal when we spotted it under $9k without reserve.
It’s a straight, dry California car, still wearing black plates, three owners from new, with documentation. The original paint is shiny, although the side panels show excessive wear, probably from long storage in a confined garage. Under the hood is the factory 383 big block (with factory chrome dress-up kit) mated to a rare 4-speed manual transmission with Sure-Grip rear end. We’re big fans of the heavy-duty radiator and bigger brakes that came with the rare tow package. The seller says the car is “Galen Govier decoded” and “all numbers matching.”
701 1966-1967 Dodge Chargers sold on eBay Motors in the past three years, with the best examples fetching more than $16k. We’re eager to see how this one does. See the listing here.
