There’s nothing quite like blowing the doors off the competition in something that looks like a family hauler. This ’64 wagon is the perfect sleeper: it looks beautifully stock, but under the fresh repaint (in factory teal), it’s fitted with a 1999 5.2-liter Magnum V8 with an Edelbrock Air Gap intake manifold and a Holley 600 4-bbl carb, an A833 4-speed transmission, and a Mopar A-body 8 3/4 Sure Grip rear end. Other upgrades include frame ties, new dual exhaust, a fresh set of tires, a new interior, a dual master cylinder, and a front sway bar.
The new interior looks tastefully stock, with some modern concessions, such as a tach and an older aftermarket tape deck. The trim is off in the pictures, having been removed for the respray, but it’s said to be complete and included. The hubcaps are original (or correct replacements) and nicely complete the unassuming vintage package.
Nobody will expect the grunt this car has when the light turns green, and it’ll be a lot of fun to take it out and bang the gears after dropping off the kids at soccer practice.
