1936 Ford 5-Window Street Rod

by

This tidy five-window street rod was built up in 1964 with a 1956 Chevrolet small block and 1939 Ford transmission. When the young owner left for Vietnam, his father sold the car, and it ended up in dry storage for 35 years. The all-original-steel car was revived in 2005 and is now said to be a reliable, roadworthy driver.

The coupe sports a finish in matte-black DP90, and rolls on black steelies with chrome rings and nuts, for a clean, understated hot rod look. The seller (noted hot rod authority SoCal Speed Shop) describes the body as “very solid.” Wiring has been upgraded to 12-volt, with turn signals added.

With its seventy-plus-year-old sheet metal, this would be a tempting basis for an expensive modern custom, but it needs nothing at all to turn and go right now, and its status as an authentic period build makes it a good prospect for long-term collectability. See the listing here.
